Trumpet

Orchestral musician, soloist, freelance performer, and teacher with experience spanning symphonic, chamber, commercial, and educational settings.

Performance

A career built through ensemble playing.

Trumpet has remained at the center of my musical life throughout my work as a performer, educator, and arranger. My performance experience includes principal and section positions, substitute and utility work, solo appearances, recording sessions, and freelance engagements.

Across those settings, I value preparation, flexibility, stylistic awareness, and the ability to listen and respond within an ensemble. Whether playing a principal role or contributing from within a section, my goal is always to serve the musical whole.

Instruction

Building musicianship from the instrument outward.

My approach to trumpet instruction emphasizes the fundamentals that make expressive playing possible: efficient breathing, tone production, articulation, flexibility, range, endurance, and thoughtful practice.

Technique is never the final goal. I want students to develop the physical reliability and musical understanding that allow them to focus less on operating the instrument and more on communicating through it.
